Getting Started with Positive Women in Business

What if my business is still small?

Members join Positive Women in Business at many different stages of their journey. Some are just beginning their business, while others lead established companies or organisations. What matters most is a willingness to learn, grow and contribute to the community. The diversity of experience in the room often creates valuable perspective for everyone.

Do I need to prepare anything before attending?

No preparation is required. Members are simply encouraged to come ready to participate in conversation, listen to the speaker and connect with other women in the room. Many members choose to bring a notebook to capture insights and ideas from the discussions.

How will this help my business?

While the environment is relational and supportive, the conversations are purposeful and practical. Guest speakers and expert contributors share insights across key areas of business including sales, marketing, leadership, financial clarity and decision-making. Members often leave with ideas they can apply immediately within their business or leadership role. Learning from other women who are navigating similar experiences is often just as valuable as hearing from guest speakers.

Will I feel welcome or out of place?

Many women feel slightly nervous before attending their first event, but those feelings usually disappear quickly. Positive Women in Business gatherings are intentionally designed to be warm, welcoming and conversational. Rather than large networking environments, they are curated spaces where women can connect naturally and build genuine relationships. You do not need to know anyone before you arrive. Most members attend their first event on their own and leave having met several women they would like to stay connected with.

Is this for someone like me?

Positive Women in Business is designed for women who are involved in business or leadership. Many of our members run their own businesses, lead teams, work as consultants, or hold senior roles within organisations.

Women join Positive Women in Business because they want to grow professionally while also being part of a community that values integrity, encouragement and meaningful relationships. Members come from a wide range of industries and stages of business, but they share a desire to learn, grow and support one another.

Program, Structure, and Delivery

Is there an online community for members?

Members will be invited to join a private online community where they can stay connected between events, share insights and continue conversations with other women in the program. This space helps maintain relationships and encouragement between gatherings.

Will people try to sell to me?

Positive Women in Business gatherings are not designed as sales forums. Members are encouraged to build authentic relationships and share their experience and expertise, but the focus is on meaningful conversation and mutual support rather than direct promotion. Opportunities for collaboration and referrals often arise naturally through genuine relationships.

Who else will be there?

Positive Women in Business attracts women from a wide variety of industries including professional services, consulting, retail, health, education, creative industries and corporate leadership. Some members are early in their business journey while others have many years of experience. This diversity creates rich conversations and opportunities for learning from one another. What unites the room is a shared commitment to growth, integrity and supporting other women in business.

Are the programs faith-based?

Yes, Positive Women in Business is founded in the Christian faith so all programs are faith-informed.

How long does each program run?

Each event runs for approximately 1.5 - 2 hours. These sessions are intentionally designed to be focused and meaningful while fitting within the busy schedules of women in business.

Events and Locations

Are programs online, in person, or both?

Positive Women in Business events are usually held in person. If an event has a hybrid or online option, it will be stated in the event invitation.

Can I attend events without joining a program?

Most events are open to members only. When an event is open to the broader community, the event registration will make it clear of the cost for members and non-members.

Where are your events usually held?

Events are held in Melbourne, with specific locations announced per event.

What does sponsorship include?

Payments, Contact, and Updates

Do you offer refunds for paid programs or events?

Memberships paid up front are non-refundable. A monthly payment option is available and may be cancelled in the unlikely case you choose not to continue the program for the full year.

Our private online community will include reminders of upcoming programs and events. Reminders will also hit your inbox through our monthly newsletter.
